Washing
Boat Boys’ signature service, the exterior boat wash. Our washes are guaranteed to leave your boat sparkling clean and shinier than your neighbors (unless theirs is washed by Boat Boys’ of course). We offer individual washes although many of our customers prefer subscribing to a washing pass. Our washing passes allow for your boat to be washed each week, month, etc. We may suggest weekly rinses in addition to the washes.
Weekly washes will protect the boat and gel coat as any impurities are eliminated that if otherwise left on the deck too long would become parched into the gel coat. Individual washes are perfect for special occasions, when you are expecting company, or simply for any visiting boaters.
We are very flexible to each customers’ needs and we gladly adapt to individual requests and preferences.
All boat boys’ exterior washes include:
- Wash from the rub rail up (including the transom)
- Isinglass cleaned
- Chamois-dry any exterior electronics
- Exterior chrome/stainless wiped down
- Fly bridge and cockpit wiped down and windows cleaned
- Exterior carpet cleaned
- Non-skid cleaned
- Hull hosed down
Waxing
In 1942, Owens-Corning developed a strong plastic laminate made with a cloth mesh core impregnated with a polyester resin. They called their new product Fiberglas. Products made from Fiberglas, everything from a bucket to a boat hull are made by first spraying the inside of a mold with resin. This resin, which will become the outer surface of the molded part, is called the gel coat. Next, layers of resin-impregnated glass fiber mesh are built-up to a desired thickness.When the resin hardens, the fabricated part is removed from the mold. The molded part is said to be made of Fiberglas but the smooth, glossy, outer surface is still referred to as gel coat.
In order to keep your yacht protected and looking its best, Boat Boys’ recommends starting the season off with two coats of wax on the entire boat in the spring, followed by two coats on the entire boat in the fall. Unless an alternative is suggested, we use a paste wax made with the highest, practical concentrations of premium grade Carnauba wax.

Top-Side Only waxing:
Includes two coats on the topside (usually from the rub-rail up).Hull Only Waxing:
Includes two coats on the hull (usually frm the waterline up to the rub-rails). You can bet on two heavy coats of wax being applied with this service.Entire Boat Waxing:
Includes two coats from the waterline up to and including the fly bridge. All metal, decks, windows, and vinyl seats polished and cleaned.

At Boat Boys’ Enterprises we have local professional captains and crew for all vessel sizes. We are confident that whatever your requirement we will be able to insure your yacht is delivered safely and on time.
As a cleaning service we will ensure the vessel is properly cleaned and maintained along the way and left clean at its destination point. We can also provide a complete detail and wax prior to or after delivery if requested.
Interior Cleaning
Our interior cleaning service includes: carpets vacuumed, trash emptied, thorough wipe down of interiors, all chrome and stainless polished, windows, mini-blinds and mirrors cleaned, all wood cleaned, and head maintenance. Remember that all Boat Boys’ services are customizable to fit your exact needs, just let us know that you need.
Hull Painting
Pre-Painted Hulls:
- Hull is completely power washed and cleaned of any impurities
- Stripping (if necessary)*
- Sanding (if necessary)*
- Paint is applied using a roller (two or three coats depending on prior condition)
Bare Fiberglass:
- Hull is completely power washed and cleaned of any impurities
- Hull surface is de-waxed
- Hull is sanded with 80-grit paper**
- First coat (flag coat) if applied
- Final two top coats are applied
*Stripping:
Adhesion of new paint is only as good as that of the paint under it, so stripping may be necessary for proper adhesion of the new paint. Anywhere the old paint is flaking or lifting, will need to be stripped. And if the paint zips off, the bottom will need to be completely stripped.
Stripping the bottom paint may also be necessary if the type of new paint varies from the original. For example, the aggressive solvents in vinyl paints lift other types of bottom paints, so if you are applying vinyl, any non-vinyl paint has to come off. And soft, sloughing paints are a poor undercoat for anything other than a fresh coat of the same.
Boat Boys’ will use a 2-inch hook scraper which has proven to be the least injurious to the environment.
** Sanding:
For hulls that are in good condition, generally sanding is all that’s needed prior to re-painting. Boat Boys’ will use either 80-grit paper in a random orbit sander with a vacuum hose connection or a finishing sander.
If Boat Boys’ doesn’t strip the bottom, we recommend sanding away most of the previous application. This avoids a thick build-up that will eventually turn brittle and cause new paint to flake.

Upholstery cleaning, mildew removal and conditioning of all upholstery, leather and vinyl. Once our vinyl & leather cleaner has brought the upholstery back like new, our vinyl & leather conditioner will insure it remains supple and protected against the elements
Isinglass Restoration/Cleaning & Treatment
Restoration, cleaning and conditioning of isinglass improves visibility and prevents cracking. This services is highly recommended and should be completed on a monthly basis at minimum.
Steam Cleaning
Carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning and steam cleaning of drapes will protect and put more life into fabrics.
Ozone Treatment
Destroy odors, don’t just cover them up. Our ozone chemicals saturate the rooms targeted with Ozone that chemically reacts with any compounds producing odors. Whether its smoke, pets or mildew that is causing problems our Ozone treatment will leave your area healthier and easier on the nose!
Linen Service
Whether you live aboard, or simply wish for fresh linen, our linen service is available to change and clean sheets on a schedule organized to suit.
